Anna Spathis

Dr Anna Spathis trained in both hospital medicine and general practice, before specializing in palliative care.

Since 2011, she has worked as a palliative medicine consultant at the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, working predominantly in the Cambridge Breathlessness Intervention Service and, in 2019, she was appointed as a University Lecturer (Honorary Consultant) in Palliative and End of Life Care.

Anna takes an active role in the development and delivery of undergraduate palliative care education at the University of Cambridge and, as Academic Lead for the East of England Specialty Training Committee, is contributing to building regional postgraduate academic palliative care training.

Anna’s research focuses on brief, community-based complex interventions for the management of intractable fatigue and breathlessness in chronic disease.
