Julie Burkin

Julie qualified as an occupational therapist in 1997 and worked in the fields of neuro-rehabilitation, oncology and palliative care prior to joining the Breathlessness Intervention Service at Addenbrooke’s as Lead Practitioner in 2009.

She obtained her MSc Clinical Research in 2013 and her professional interests are in fatigue management for malignant and non-malignant disease, breathlessness management and coaching, having recently qualified as an ILM Level 7 Coach for the Trust. 

Julie has presented the work of BIS at both COT National Conference and COT Special Section in HIV, Oncology and Palliative Care (HOPC) Conferences. She has also presented at international conferences in Dublin, Montreal and Hong Kong. In 2018, she presented the Breathing, Thinking and Functioning Model of Breathlessness Management at the World Federation of Occupational Therapist’s Congress in Cape Town.
